How Would You Introduce Someone To Pro Wrestling?

Earlier today I asked a question on Twitter: If someone you knew wanted to get into pro wrestling as a fan, what is the first match you show them? I got a lot of great responses so I figured I share some of them with you.

HBK and Ric Flair Offer Their Thoughts on Triple H Possibly Retiring

WWE.com has an article up looking at the “Triple H retirement” stipulation that’s been added to his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. The article includes from retired WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels, who talk about the significance of the stipulation:

Ric Flair: “He’s too young to leave the business and has too much left to offer. If he doesn’t wrestle again, no matter how much time he spends in the office working with the company, he’ll be miserable. He needs to be in the ring. That’s who he is. Triple H is a student of this business and has studied and has loved it since he was a young man, and it’s reflected in who he is. And I think he needs to stay active and keep contributing in the ring. He can’t stay backstage or in the office. He’ll get bored with that real fast.”

HBK: “I certainly believe that he’s got plenty of other responsibilities that would keep him busy. I think he would be content. He’s always had a level head on his shoulders — more so than me — so from that standpoint, I think he would. Could he say, ‘absolutely no more, not even here and there’? I don’t know. I think that’s always the million-dollar question for all of us.”

WRESTLING CLASSICS Episode 4: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (Wrestlemania 25)

To get in the spirit of Wrestlemania season I thought it would be awesome to share with you one of my personal favorite WM matches. HBK proved to be the first man to legitimately pose a threat to The Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak. This match encompasses why Michaels is known as Mr. Wrestlemania and the legend of the Undertaker's Wrestlemania Streak. So much symbolic difference between both men yet this match was flawless. The flow, intensity, and tension is everything a classic match has and tonight it was at an all time high. Enjoy!

SuperBowl Sunday!

I'm just a casual football fan, I have no real team to root for. I'm a baseball guy. Anyway, I've spent most of my day watching DX: New and Improved DVD on Netflix. The biggest story to come out of the wrestling world recently is Bret Hart saying HHH never really contributed anything to the sport of professional wrestling, not even in the top 1000 wrestlers of all time, and his match with The Undertaker at last year's Wrestlemania "...was a 4 at best." Now I know Trips isn't the most liked guy in the wrestling business but I wouldn't absolutely bury him in that way. Obviously Mr. Hart is entitled to his opinion and he is one of the best to speak on the matter but it does come across as a tad bit bitter.

Anyway for anyone who says HHH never has had an entertaining match, I ask you to give this a look perhaps during the Halftime Show, if Beyoncé isn't your thing.

Happy SuperBowl everyone! May whichever team you are rooting for be the victor!
