RAW Quick Hits! - 7/30/18; Brock Shows Up...Sort Of

Roman Reigns starts off Raw LIVE from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL!

Heyman did his usual selling of a PPV match by discounting Brock Lesnar's opponent, in this case, Roman Reigns. Heyman still thinks Brock is going to leave SummerSlam as Universal Championship and head to the UFC. Roman says he's sending Brock back to the UFC but he'll be known as Roman's bitch. Quick and straight to the point.

Finn Balor makes his way to the ring before we go to commercial break. When we come back Brock is in his dressing room, just kinda chillin'. When Heyman went to show Brock what Roman said (because Brock doesn't watch the show) Brock flung Heyman's phone across the room.

Baron Corbin def. Finn Balor I enjoyed this match way more than their encounter at Extreme Rules. Corbin seems to improve in the ring every week. I was surprised to see Corbin get the win with a clean pin but no complaints.

Kurt Angle informs Paul Heyman that if Brock Lesnar does not make an appearance inside the ring tonight then Paul Heyman's contract with the WWE will be terminated.

Alicia Fox def. Natalya thanks to an assist from Alicia Fox. After the match, Ronda Rousey who was in Natalya's corner went to get her hands on Alexa Bliss who was in the corner of Fox. The numbers game coupled with no help from Natalya caught up to Ronda. Alicia and Alexa escape after giving Ronda a beating.

Finally, Ronda Rousey makes her RAW debut next week when she takes on Alicia Fox.

Jinder Mahal def. Braun Strowman via Countout thanks to Kevin Owens distracting by trying to steal the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Apollo Crews def. Akam of the Authors of Pain with a roll up.

Seth Rollins def. Drew McIntyre via DQ after Dolph Ziggler interfered following a Curbstomp from Rollins. It was starting to become a really good match too.

Earlier, Commissioner Stephanie McMahon called in and requested that Roman Reigns be removed from the building protecting the SummerSlam Main Event with Brock in the house tonight. Constable Corbin had to go overboard and have Roman escorted out by law enforcement.

The Revival def. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt

Paul Heyman finally broke down and told Brock Lesnar that if Brock does not make an appearance tonight, for at least one minute then he would be fired. Heyman even pleaded with Brock as a friend to which Brock threatened Heyman quite aggressively. Lesnar told Heyman to go do his job and even questioned if Heyman had been leeching off Brock. We come back from commercial break and Raw GM Kurt Angle requests the presence of Paul Heyman. The Advocate for the Universal Champion nervously makes his way down to the ring. He pleads with Angle to keep his job, even throwing Brock under the bus. Everything was in vain as Angle fires Heyman. Paul drops to his knees and is begging for his job when the music of Brock Lesnar hits and the Universal Champion is actually coming down to the ring. Lesnar asks Angle if Angle has a problem with him then asks Constable Corbin the same question. Suddenly Lesnar grabs Angle, hoists him up, and drops him with an F-5. Constable Corbin stood there and did nothing! A relieved Heyman stands there relishing the moment with a huge, cheesy grin. Brock suddenly grabs Heyman by the face and slowly brings him down to the mat. Heyman is begging Brock to let go because he can't breathe and after a few seconds Brock complies. Brock takes his Championship and exits the ring almost as if he doesn't know what came over him. Raw ends.

Tonight's Raw had a good flow to it. Good to see Apollo Crews, The Revival, and the Authors of Pain get some TV time. It is no secret WWE is searching for any way to get Roman Reigns in the good graces with fans. They have tried for the better part of three years and each time they have failed. Until tonight. They may not have turned the entire audience but the "We want Roman" chants were louder than the "No we don't" ones. Good stuff. What did you think of tonight's Raw?
