SmackDown Live Quick Hits - 5/29/18; Big Cass is a Faker

Just like we did last night for Raw, here is SmackDown Live's Quick Hits! The Blue Brand comes to us live from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC. Advertised for tonight is Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe for a final spot in this year's Money in the Bank, their first match against each other since December 2006!

Does anyone let out a loud groan when this guy comes on TV? In some cases that would be a good thing for a heel but in Big Cass' case it's more of a "Man, you really are pretty boring" sort of way. Tonight's main event between Joe/Bryan has now been changed to a Triple Threat with the same Money in the Bank match caveat.

If they actually wanted to, they could make Tye Dillinger a bigger deal. This would have been a decent match but the in-action commercial breaks really throw your concentration off. I really enjoy jerk heel Shinsuke though. I didn't think it would be this good but so far it's working.

I enjoyed the Naomi/Lana dance-off. I didn't want to, but I did.

This match was absolute fire, a must watch. As I said before on Social Media, the fact that New Day is still so popular and haven't even reached a ceiling in terms of their creativity or popularity is legendary stuff. The quality of their matches as a group has always been on a consistently high level with no signs of ever decreasing. Moreover, it looks like Xavier Woods is coming into his own just as each other member of the New Day has done already. This match showcases Woods with a fantastic hot tag and a blitz sequence of offense that was simply amazing. Don't skip this one.

I need this match in my life.

Man, I wish they would have stuck with the original match. Especially since the finish was Joe putting Bryan to sleep. I really tried to get into this one but I saw when the focus was on Cass my attention would deviate. I'm surprised that they had Bryan take the pin but I don't hate it. Samoa Joe winning the MITB briefcase makes a lot of sense as he can really elevate what it means to hold the briefcase. He's a predator who will stalk his prey and strike when he sees fit. Then again, almost all the participants seem like a good choice to win so this match has shaped up to be a good one.

So that's it for SmackDown Live this week. What did you think of the show? Comment below or reach out to us on Social Media:
