RAW Recap - 8/14/17; SummerSlam Comes Early

We're six days away from SummerSlam! Time for our last Raw stop tonight in Boston, MA.

Raw begins with Dean Ambrose calling his former Shield brethren Seth Rollins. These two can't seem to get on the same page and let bad things stay in the past. It's a back and forth to see which man was going to break first that leads to Seth and Dean brawling all over ringside. Suddenly the Raw Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro come down to pick the bones. Seth and Dean are able to fight off Sheamus and Cesaro and stand in the center of the ring fists connected. Raw GM Kurt Angle comes out and makes a major announcement, at SummerSlam Sheamus and Cesaro will defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. A pretty cool moment with the crowd going nuts but for me, the reunion is incomplete without Roman Reigns.

Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax - Winner will face Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam for the Raw Women's Championship

Really good match following a very simple formula of big vs. small. I especially loved the ending sequence. Sasha baits Nia into a Banks Statement in the middle of the ring. Nia is able to get vertical but Sasha takes her down with a fantastic DDT. Sasha reapplies the Banks Statement and just as Nia is about to grab the rope to break the hold Sasha switches to the other side. Nia taps and Sasha punches her ticket to SummerSlam.

Looks like tonight we will see Jason Jordan take on The Miz and SummerSlam comes early thanks to a brawl backstage. Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt will face off tonight.

R-Truth interrupted an Elias musical showcase and got dropped for his actions.

A shark cage is lowered in the middle of the ring symbolizing Sunday's match between Big Show and Big Cass. Big Cass' former friend Enzo Amore will be suspended in said shark cage above the ring at SummerSlam. Here's what happened:

Neville (c) vs. Akira Tozawa - Cruiserweight Championship Match

Absolutely incredible match. The offense was pretty much even on both sides till the very end. Neville targeted the shoulder of Tozawa that even if healed, could not be at 100%. Neville locks on the Rings of Saturn but Tozawa shifts his weight into a pin, Neville barely kicks out at two. Neville grabs the weakened arm of Tozawa and yanks him into the corner turnbuckle. Neville heads up top looking for a rarely seen Red Arrow. He misses! Tozawa heads to the top and lands a picture perfect Senton Bomb! 1...2...3! Akira Tozawa is the new Cruiserweight Champion! Tozawa and Titus celebrate in the ring where they are joined by Apollo Crews. This was a great moment for a great match I just wonder why they didn't keep it for the PPV.

Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor

This one didn't wow me like I wanted it too. It wasn't a bad match it just wasn't anything different than what you would expect. Finn was looking for the Coupe de Grace when Bray knocks Finn off the top. Bray picks Finn up and drops him with Sister Abigail for the win.

After the match, Bray drops Finn with another Sister Abigail when the lights go out. When they come back on Finn is propped up in the corner and Bray is holding a bucket. Bray pours the bucket over Finn dousing him with a gooey red substance we earn is some sort of acid.

Emma vs. Mickie James

This was a cool down match. Nothing too exciting other than Mickie James getting the win with a spin kick.

Looks like Finn is bringing the demon with him Sunday at SummerSlam.

The Miz vs. Jason Jordan

This match was interesting. Jordan held down most of the offense and before he could put things away things were interrupted by Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. The Hardyz come out and make the save for Jordan and we go to break. When we come back from break we have a new match.

The Hardyz and Jason Jordan vs. The Miztourage

The Miztourage did a great job working over Matt Hardy in the beginning of the match setting up a great hot tag to Jeff. A great mix of pinfall break ups leading to Jordan suplexing The Miz into Curtis Axel then hitting a suplex on Bo Dallas. Matt Hardy hits a Twist of Fate in perfect position for Jeff to come off the top with a Swanton Bomb. Fun match.

Brock Lesnar, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Roman Reigns face off
