RAW Recap - 7/17/17; Kurt's Big Secret

Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe do battle to see who will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam for the Universal Title and Kurt Angle reveals his huge secret!

Raw kicks off with Dean Ambrose coming out with a steel chair and calling out The Miz. Instead of The Miz Dean gets his former Shield brethren, Seth Rollins. Seth is out to let Dean know he too has a beef with The Miz and Miztourage and he wants to know if Dean has his back. Dean is a little reluctant and rightfully so after all, Seth stabbed him in the back three years ago. Seth wants Dean to let things stay in the past and if Dean isn't willing to accept an I'm sorry he should do what was done to him and smash a steel chair in the back of Rollins. Ambrose thinks long and hard and decides not to take Rollins up on his offer. Before things go any further The Miz and his Miztourage come down to the ring and surround the ring. All three men grab chairs from underneath the ring and jump Rollins and Ambrose. Miztourage caps off the attack with Miz hitting the Skull Crushing Finale sending Seth's skull through a chair. The crowd was expecting Roman, the third member of The Shield, to make the save but it doesn't happen.

After the commercial break, The Miz and his Miztourage book it out of the arena.

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss

A few minutes after the bell rang Nia Jax came down to the ring to serve as reinforcement for Bliss. The Raw Women's Champ Alexa Bliss did a good job working Bayley's arm and even using Nia to gain an advantage in the match. Sasha Banks runs down to even the odds for her friend Bayley who hits the Bayley to Belly for the win. They've been doing the "Sasha is here to save the day" deal with Bayley a ton but I guess it works.

Kurt Angle is backstage freaking the "you know what" out.

The Brian Kendrick and Drew Gulak vs. Mustafa Ali and Jack Gallagher

A quick match. Gallagher did the bulk of the work for his team and Ali came in with an Inverted 450 for the win.

Elias Sampson vs. Finn Balor

Sampson really coming into his own as a brawler, hitting Balor with some pretty stiff shots. The action spilled outside and while Finn wasn't looking, Elias grabs his guitar and swings for the fences turning the guitar into sawdust. The referee calls for the bell.

Before Balor exits Bray appears on the big screen and says he has been watching Balor. It looks like Bray Wyatt has found his next target.

Bayley and Sasha Banks will do battle next week to determine who will be the #1 Contender for the Raw Women's Championship.

Akira Tozawa vs. Ariya Daivari

Tozawa comes into the match with a bummed shoulder thanks to an attack from Neville last week on 205 Live. Daivari takes full advantage of this specifically targeting the shoulder the entire match. The onslaught is too much and Titus O'Neil who accompanies Akira has the match stopped.

So Kurt Angle's big secret is that he has a child he didn't know about until recently. It just so happened that his son is a current WWE Superstar. Kurt Angle's son is.....Jason Jordan. This is absolutely wonderful.

The Hardyz vs. The Revival

You think after that Angle bombshell I'm going to be able to give you the highlights of this match?! Thank God for YouTube.

Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe - Winner will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship

Another great match between these two. They just went out there and hit each other with the hardest shots possible. On the outside Reigns went for his Drive By dropkick and Joe catches him with a thunderous clothesline. Reigns rebound quickly and hit Joe with a clothesline of his own. The match is going along like a well-timed car crash when suddenly here comes Braun Strowman. Not only did Braun destroy Roman but he absolutely decimated Joe. Both Joe and Roman tried to stop Braun and they got him off his feet for all of maybe five seconds. Braun leaves Joe and Roman laying in the ring after consecutive running powerslams. The match ends in a DQ. GM Kurt Angle said he will make his decision on the SummerSlam main event next week. My guess is there will be a Triple Threat match between Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman. Can you imagine a Braun Strowman/Brock Lesnar match? Insane.
