Raw Rapid Recap - 8/1/16; A Wild Viper Appears!

Tonight's Raw takes place from Atlanta.

Raw opened with a pretty decent mixed tag match with Sasha Banks and Enzo Amore taking Charlotte and the absolute genius Chris Jericho. Seriously, any time he reinvents himself particularly as a jerk he is the most entertaining person on TV. Thanks to a distraction from Dana Brooke Jericho and Charlotte get the win. I'm intrigued by the idea of Jericho feuding with Enzo. I wonder what route Creative will be going....

Braun Strowman killed another jobber.

Rollins and Balor had a verbal back and forth that ended with an overhead kick from Balor sending Rollins retreating.

Rusev defended the US Title against Mark Henry in a match that started off well then just fell flat ending with Rusev winning with the Accolade.

After the match Rusev was confronted by none other than Roman Reigns. Fun brawl that even saw the Roman haters lose their minds. Looks like we're getting Roman vs. Rusev at SummerSlam. Definitely not mad at that.

Looks like Jericho had found an ally in Kevin Owens.

Moving on to the main event which saw number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship Seth Rollins taking on Sami Zayn. This was a solid match. Not much flash, not that it was needed, but good enough to keep your attention at home and the attention of the crowd. Sami went for the Helluva Kick but Rollins ducks and lands a Pedigree for the win.

Brock Lesnar's appearance closed out the show. Pretty sweet gig when your job is to show up every four months and not have to say a word. As usual Heyman did all the talking cutting the typical Heyman selling a PPV promo. In this one he declared Orton will not even be able to get Lesnar in position for the RKO. In a literal flash Orton hits the ring from the crowd and hits Lesnar with an RKO. Security, Stephanie, Foley, Referees, and members of the Raw locker room come out to defend their turf but Orton escapes and celebrates with the Atlanta crowd. Fun way to end the show.
