SmackDown Recap - 4/21/16

Hello, Wrestling Chronicle readers! Angie here with your Smackdown recap.

Smackdown opens with another edition of MizTV with guest, AJ Styles. The Miz asks AJ if he had anything to do with Roman Reigns getting attacked buy Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. AJ denies. I know Miz TV is tiring to some people but I've grown to like it just because it makes Miz a greater heel and adding Maryse and her broken accent adds fuel to it. After a makeout session with Maryse, AJ clocks Miz in the teeth again. They square off later in the show.

Ryback def. Kalisto in a non title match

I don't know what's next for Kalisto and his run with the U.S. Title but he either has to lose it or put him in a legit feud. The U.S Title has lost some luster since Cena dropped it. As for Ryback, who cares.

Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin ended in a no contest

Corbin attacks Ziggler before he enters the ring and hits the End of Days on the ground. I like how Baron Corbin is being used in the main roster so far. It's like what Roman Reigns heel gimmick should be. He just doesn't give a crap. I also loved his straight to the point answer to Rich Brennan's question of why he attacked Ziggler. "Because I can" then leaves.

AJ Styles def. The Miz

A great back and forth match between Miz and AJ. It's also a delight to hear Mauro Ranallo call AJ Styles matches and Lawler getting angry about the Japanese wrestling lingo. As Miz looked frustrated and ready to head to the locker room, out comes Gallows and Anderson coming down the ramp. AJ hits the Phenomenal Forearm for the win. AJ had the same expression on his face from last week when Gallows and Anderson attacked Roman Reigns.

Gallows and Anderson vs The Usos is announced for Monday Night Raw

Natalya and Paige defeated Naomi and Tamina

Nothing too special about this match except for Paige. It's always nice to see Paige in action. Nice to see Naomi in action too.

R-Truth def. Fandango

Goldust was the special referee for this match... if you want to call it that.

Enzo and Cass and The Vaudevillians exchange some words hyping up their number one contender's match at Payback. Enzo is once again GOLD on the mic and this is the first time I've heard Simon Gotch speak. Is that weird?

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho def. Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose

Another exciting Main Event for Smackdown. The heels get the upper hand this week as Zayn got a victory last week on Smackdown and Ambrose over Owens this past Monday on Raw.

This exchange between Shane McMahon and The Miz wasn't on TV tonight but was just posted on YouTube.
