NXT Recap - 4/13/16

William Regal opens the show and thanks the NXT Universe for their support at NXT Dallas and announces matches featuring Bayley, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, The Vaudevillians, Shinsuke Nakamura and more!

Written by: Angela Delgado

Austin Aries def. Angelo Dawkins

A nice showcase for Aries. The match was nothing special. I honestly did not know Angelo Dawkins was still on the NXT roster.

Alexa Bliss def. Tessa Blanchard

Alexa Bliss continues to impress me and can be a huge player in the future of the NXT Women's division once Bayley gets her call to the main roster. Also, if you didn't notice, Tessa Blanchard is indeed the daughter of former Horseman, Tully Blanchard. She also looked impressive. I know Tessa's got a long way but imagine her and Charlotte in a match with Ric and Tully in each corner? Ok, getting waaay ahead of myself.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa def. The Vaudevillians

After being in singles for awhile, Gargano and Ciampa are back to teaming and they get a huge victory over the former NXT Tag Champs. Gargano and Ciampa bring some fresh energy to an already exciting division and I wonder if they stay as a team.

Baron Corbin def. Tucker Knight

Light work for Big Banter Corbin.

Bayley def. Liv Morgan

It's awesome to see some North Jersey representation in NXT. Started from Enzo Amore and now with Liv Morgan. Too bad she had no chance against Bayley. She has potential in this ever growing women's division. Bayley takes the mic and gives an inspirational speech about her match at Takeover Dallas and she is ready to become champion again. This is Bayley's world and we're just living in it. Her connection to the fans, especially kids, is truly something special and I can't wait for her debut, whenever it is.

Shinsuke Nakamura def. Tye Dillinger

The King of Strong Style and The Perfect 10 squared off in an entertaining match as the two were exchanging each other's mannerisms. Best part was the crowd chanting "He's 11!" at Nakamura. Nakamura hits the Kinshasa knee for the win.

Couple of Notes:

Enzo and Big Cass challenged American Alpha next week to a non title match.

Finn Balor is looking forward to going head to head with Shinsuke Nakamura soon in NXT.

Samoa Joe vs Apollo Crews was also announced of next week's NXT.

Solid show tonight. What did you guys think? Comment below and Follow me on Twitter. See you tomorrow for Smackdown!
