WWE SmackDown Recap - 3/24/16

Here is a recap of the 3/24/16 edition SmackDown by Angie Delgado.

Charlotte opens the show and cuts a promo before her match with Sasha Banks. She says she is ready to put an end to Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and the entire Diva's Revolution. And that leads to Charlotte and Ric Flair exchanging hilarious "WOOS". Charlotte is coming to her own as a heel and I don't know if she even needs Ric anymore.

Sasha Banks def. Charlotte

What an awesome way to open Smackdown with what could've been a great singles match at Mania as well. Adding Becky Lynch to commentary made it greater as she's coming off as an underdog. Towards the end Becky got in Charlotte's face outside the ring. That lead to Charlotte pushing Sasha into Becky. After a brutal spinebuster, Charlotte looked to apply the figure 8. Sasha reverses and gets the roll up victory. Nice hometown win for The Boss. Becky immediately gets in the ring and Bex-Plexes both Charlotte and Sasha and exits the ring in the most bad ass way. Sasha follows up and does the Back Stabber on Charlotte leaving the Champ down. This match is the most I'm looking forward to at Wrestlemania and I hope it steals the show.

Sheamus def. Kofi Kingston

This match was all Kofi until Barrett and Rusev butted in. Sheamus hits the Brogue kick for the win.

The Usos def. The Ascension in a squash

Renee Young caught up with The Dudleyz backstage and Bubba went on to say that they've beat The Usos and their dad, Rikishi many times and if the Wild Samoans were there, they'll beat him down too. Roman Reigns hears this and doesn't take that well and challenges Bully.... I mean Bubba Ray to a fight.

The Shane McMahon vs The Undertaker hype video is shown again. Another great job by the production team putting this video together. This is the main event and I expect a shocking ending. Forget the haters, this might be something special.

Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn def. The Miz and Kevin Owens

A highly entertaining match that proves my point that just these four superstars should be in that ladder match and adding three more competitors is over doing it. K.O ditches Miz as he's met with Sin Cara, Zack Ryder, and Stardust on the ramp. The Miz had enough of K.O and does the Skull Crushing Finale on him. That ended with all seven competitors brawling in the ring with Zack Ryder of all people standing tall at the end.

What a sight.

Roman Reigns vs Bubba Ray Dudley ended in a DQ after Roman repeatedly banged Bubba's head on the announce table. D'Von attempted the save but just got Superman punched and Bubba got speared in the ring. Bad Ass Samoan Roman rules and the haters can suck it.

AJ Styles def. Tyler Breeze

It's always a treat to hear Mauro Ranallo call an AJ Styles match because he's actually calling the moves he's applying to his opponent. Also, a moment of silence of Tyler Breeze's run in the main roster so far. Such a shame and I hope he gets some shine. No sign of Jericho tonight but maybe we'll see him Monday and make AJ Styles vs Jericho at Wrestlemania official.

Brock Lesnar closes the show

Paul Heyman calls out Dean Ambrose and he gets The Wyatts. As The Wyatts surrounded the ring, Dean Ambrose rushes to the ring with a Kendo Stick and takes out Bray. Brock Lesnar took Rowan and Strowman to Suplex City. The Kendo Stick wasn't enough for Dean as he was F'5'd. Brock stands tall to end the show.

Action packed show tonight as Smackdown continues to be the superior show for just wrestling. The pieces to Wrestlemania are almost complete as we get ready for he go home show in Brooklyn. Monday didn't get me hyped for Wrestlemania but this episode of Smackdown did. Let's see if Raw can carry the momentum.
