NXT Recap - 3/16/16

Huge show tonight as NXT Takeover: Dallas is beginning to shape up to steal Wrestlemania Weekend.

Written by: Angela Delgado

Sami Zayn opened the show saying last week, he went to war with Samoa Joe in their 2 out of 3 falls match. As Zayn was going on about NXT Takeover, William Regal interrupts and gives Sami Zayn a match with NXT's new acquisition, Shinsuke Nakamura! The crowd erupts in "Holy Shit!!" chants. Talk about a debut match in the biggest stage in pro wrestling. I've been doing my homework on Nakamura ever since he was announced to join the WWE. With this possibly being Sami Zayn's last match on NXT, I can see Nakamura taking his spot on the NXT roster.

Check out his intro to the NXT Universe:

Bayley and Asuka defeated Nia Jax and Eva Marie

Bayley. Great. Asuka. Amazing. Nia Jax...continues to bore me. Eva Marie tries her hardest as a heel but still continues to be awful in the ring. After the match, William Regal comes back out and announces that Asuka is the new number one contender for the NXT Women's Title.

American Alpha defeats The Vaudevillians to become the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan have it. Who needs a Kurt Angle return when you have these fresh faces on NXT every week? Jordan and Gable definitely have property in Suplex City, they were bringing every variation of one. Got to give it to The Vaudevillians for hanging in this match. The Revival and American Alpha match up well and it has potential to steal the show in Dallas.

And those are the key moments on this episode of NXT. Other matches that happened:

Hype Bros def. Angelo Dawkins and Kenneth Crawford
Emma def. Deonna Purrazzo
Tommaso Ciampa def. Jesse Sorensen
