Preview and Predictions for WWE Night of Champions 2015

This Sunday is WWE's Night of Champions event live on the WWE Network. Below is a preview of the show and predictions from Editor Erik Vasquez.
Night of Champions Pre-Show

Lucha Dragons and Neville vs. Cosmic Wasteland

This should be a very fun match. I'm a huge fan of the superhero approach WWE has taken and how they've involved The Ascension. If you have seen any of The Ascension's work on NXT, you know they are a pretty solid brawler tag team. Stardust obviously has enough charisma to make a character like Stardust work so the idea as a whole just works. Neville and the Lucha Dragons really do seem like superheroes in human form. Again, this should be a fun match to kick off the show.

Prediction: Recently, aside from The Ascension finally being dominant in a match, we've usually always seen Neville get the upper hand while Stardust and his henchmen retreat. I see this time the Cosmic Wasteland getting a win, maybe quickly making it seem like they stole the victory.

Rusev (w/ Summer Rae) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ugh. This whole thing is just...not my cup of tea. With Lana on the shelf with a wrist injury, this match suffers greatly as she is still massively popular with the crowd.

Prediction: I really have no logical explanation as why this can go one way or another. Every time this concoction of a love triangle comes on my TV I cringe because I feel like a grown man watching a soap opera. Yeah, not my cup of tea.

Nikki Bella (c) vs. Charlotte for the Divas Championship

Here's a match that after Monday I'm all in for. I'm on that bandwagon that didn't want to see Nikki Bella break the record as longest owner of that atrocious pink butterfly monstrosity. No slight to her, she has greatly improved, but up until now the title has meant nothing. She even said live on WWE programming that wins and losses don't mean anything. Wait...what? So wins and losses don't mean anything but the length of time you have held a title because you haven't been pinned during the rare chance you actually defend that thing, does. Got it.

The way they booked the Raw match these two had was fantastic. From the emotion and heartache of Charlotte feeling she let her father down, to the absolute anger I felt when the decision was reversed because of "Twin Magic", something they have used before to win and the other decisions have never been reversed. I was mad. And that was exactly the point.

Prediction: People will tune in hoping they see Nikki lose that title and hopefully Charlotte, who is taking small steps in a good direction will give the title more significance through good matches.

The New Day (c) vs. The Dudley Boyz for the WWE Tag Team Championships

The New Day has been the most entertaining aspect of WWE programming. Annoyingly funny, clever, and natural charisma. They are having fun and it shows. I'm also super ecstatic for Kofi Kingston, who is performing at an all time high.

Dudley Boyz have added some much needed juice for the WWE Tag Division. More established tag teams, especially ones who can still perform at a high level with tons of experience can only be a benefit to the division.

Prediction: While I do believe The Dudleys will achieve the accolade of being ten time Champions, The New Day is just too hot right now. Any segment featuring the trio gets the attention of every fan, casual or hardcore. New Day retains.

Ryback (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship

This should be a solid contest at best. Ryback has been really improving in the ring and Owens is showing that anything he does just works. Best thing about Owens is he is such a hybrid. He can work quick or brawl, doesn't matter. This could be a match that turns out to be sleeper for match of the night.

Prediction: I think Owens walks away with the belt. No slight to Ryback, Owens doesn't necessarily need the belt, it just seems right. Or maybe they'll extend this feud?

The Wyatt Family vs. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and ??

The only reason to tune in for this one is to see who is the third man. Who is it?! I feel like it's 1996 and The Outsiders have just invaded WCW.

Prediction: Don't really care who wins or loses, I just want to know who is the third man!!

Seth Rollins (c) vs. John Cena for the United States Championship

This is my pick for Match of the Night. Cena's 2015 catalog is the stuff of legends and with that means this is going to be a great match.

Prediction: I say Cena walks away with the title. Rollins hasn't done anything with the title. The US Open Challenge was probably my favorite part of Raw when Cena held the US Title because more often than not it was the match of the night.

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Sting for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

This one is...interesting. Sting's current WWE record stands at 1-1. His third match is one for the highest title in the industry. He is in his mid fifties. Rollins is pretty good in the ring and what makes him good is he can adapt to whomever he is facing. I'm sure this is going to be at best a solid match.

Prediction: Chances of Sting being champion is slim to none. They keep teasing a Sheamus Money in the Bank cash in, I say we have a better chance of that happening than Sting winning the title.
