Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady def. The VaudeVillains
Sasha Banks def. Blue Pants
Kevin Owens def. Adrian Neville

Highlights

The show opens with NXT General Manager William Regal in his office with a message for the NXT Universe. He clarifies that in NXT championships can change hands at any given moment so long as it is via pinfall, submission, or referee stoppage. NXT's newest champion Kevin Owens may believe he has the right to do whatever he pleases but he doesn't make the rules in NXT, William Regal does. Tonight Owens will face Adrian Neville in a non-title match. Regal closes his address to the NXT Universe by saying tonight marks a new era in NXT. A truly masterful performance from Regal.

Owens comes down to the ring sporting his newly won championship. He gets on the microphone and after the hostile crowd cools down he explains that whatever people may say about how he won the title and what he did during the match is irrelevant. Furthermore the man he beat to win the title, Sami Zayn is now the past. When you're done with the past you look to the future and that is Finn Bálor. He advises Bálor to go to William Regal, pick a date and he will be there with his NXT Title. He warns Bálor that the same thing that happened at NXT Rival could happen to him because no one is taking the NXT Title from Owens or his family.

First match of the night would be Elias Samson taking on Rhyno. Wait what? I rub my eyes and pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming and when reality hits I am truly dumbfounded to see Rhyno not only in an NXT ring but looking as though he just finished wrestling a match in ECW. The match lasts only about 45 seconds as Samson gets folded up like a lawn chair courtesy of a Gore. Rhyno looks to be in great shape and what a treat for the NXT fans who truly went bonkers when he stepped out.

Backstage Finn Bálor gives his thoughts on new NXT Champion Kevin Owens and his warning to Bálor. He tells Owens that like Owens he has a high opinion of himself and fights only for a prize himself that being the NXT Championship. He will take on Owens anyplace, anywhere, anytime. Before Bálor could finish his thoughts he is interrupted by Rhyno who doesn't say anything just eyes him up and down as if he was sizing up competition. Are we going to be seeing more of Rhyno in NXT?

Any time Enzo Amore, Big Cass, and now Carmella are on my TV a big cheesy grin comes across my face. What's not to love about about a guy with multicolored facial hair wrestling in Jordan Infrareds, a guy who stands at 7 feet tall with master spelling skills, and a gorgeous New York woman who embodies the very woman my mother warned me about? They've got the charisma and catchphrases for days which bodes well for their young careers. In the ring Big Cass and Amore compliment each other well and the closing segments of this match showcase just that. Big Cass uses Amore like a dart sending him into Aiden English who stumbles right into a monster big boot from Big Cass. I agree with Big Cass, they've earned a shot for the NXT Tag Titles.

CJ Parker apparently tried to hold the show hostage. Anytime Parker tries to do something of importance it usually means he's about to get destroyed by an NXT newcomer. Right on cue as Parker is draping the ring with yellow caution tape from the crowd comes Solomon Crowe who is revealed to be the man messing with the broadcast feeds on a weekly basis. Crowe disposes of Parker and segues us back to our regularly scheduled program.

Sasha Banks versus Blue Pants was a fun match to watch. I enjoyed the beginning with Banks as the new Women's Champion being totally disrespected by Blue Pants. How is Blue Pants so popular with the NXT crowd? She is so popular a championship reign one day is really within the realm of possibility. Once Sasha starts dominating the match there's no stopping her. Banks even pulls out the false pin at two to inflict more damage on her opponent. Way to be a heel Sasha!

According to Senior Ringside Physician Chris Amann, Sami Zayn underwent all precautionary testing necessary due to receiving so many blows to the head during his match with Kevin Owens at NXT Takeover Rival. All tests including a CAT Scan came back negative and Zayn is free to continue honoring his commitments while being in constant contact with WWE doctors.

The main event of this week saw Adrian Neville up against NXT Champion Kevin Owens in a non-title match. This match told a fantastic story from beginning to end. Owens' game plan was to pretty much copy his strategy against Zayn and use it with Neville. Owens kept much of the match on the ground rendering Neville useless because he couldn't use any of his aerial game. When he did get the upper hand he had to really kick it into high gear because after a devastating DDT counter Owens was still on his feet first. Neville kept the match in his control and not even being on the outside deterred Neville from being the aggressor. I really enjoyed seeing Neville absolutely pissed off in a foul mood. Each one of his strikes hits harder and more vile than before. Adrian busts out an absolute gorgeous 450 splash from the apron to the floor and the shear impact got an incredible ovation from the crowd. Owens tries to regain momentum in the match by going into another gear but gets stopped in his tracks by a wicked superkick from Neville. The Man That Gravity Forgot places Owens in prime position for the Red Arrow finisher but at the last second Owens avoids impact. Neville had the wherewithal to change positions mid flight but gets caught on the rebound with a popup powerbomb from Owens who gets the three count. Again, an absolutely fantastic match especially for just a simple weekly broadcast. But again this is NXT, where we are constantly spoiled with some good 'ol fashioned wrestling.
